Gerald y Roberto

Gerald, 15 is the captain of our little league team. Roberto, 13 has just received special permission from the league. Both will be moving up to our premier team. Today, they played with the big boys. Both of them scored. Pure sport.

The Fiesta

Had to share it with Roberto. Cake, ice cream, cookies and coca cola. We watched the championship and 3 year videos over and over
(see below). I left at just the right time as it's not safe to be around these kids when they're all hopped up on sugar.

The Legacy

It started as a dream. In August of '05 it was a drawing on a thank you letter (see lower right). I always thought it would look good on a t-shirt or maybe even a soccer jersey. The kid that drew it is now the captain of the premier soccer team in La Carpio. A team that has won a championship every year. Today, thanks to Holly from the Woodlands, a good part of our community proudly wears this t-shirt. The dream came true.

Only In America (Central)

Numero cinco celebrates with one of his heroes after a big win.

Inter Wins 3-2!

We're back in the final! El ocho is the only one pictured who didn't score a goal. Every team needs a water boy. Even if it rains.

Inter Wins 3-2!

The last game of season play. The win secures us a first round bye. We only have a rain make-up and win or lose we are in the semi-finals!

Chano

Please pray for #9. He doesn't look exactly like this anymore. He got cut up in a gang fight last night. It was only a bottle and not a knife. He has a long row of stitches in his left cheek and also on the left side of his forehead. We dedicated our game to him today. First reports sounded a lot more serious and some even said that he was no longer with us.
